The potential site pairs a peaceful village location with convenient transport links and easy access to popular surrounding destinations, including the M90 – a major connecting road to the north of Scotland – and Edinburgh city centre.

Have the luxury of living just a 12-minute walk away from Blairadam Wood, an expansive woodland with several peaceful trails. Hours of fun can be had at Fife Leisure Park four miles away, with visitors indulging in adventure golf, fun bingo sessions, bowling, gym sessions, and cinema screenings. There is also a local garden centre for those with green fingers to peruse.

A 10-minute drive from Kelty leads to Dunfermline. Known as the ‘ancient capital of Scotland’, the city’s fascinating history is paired with delightful entertainment, including arts venues, theatre halls, and live music.

Lochore Meadows Country Park (west entrance) is a five-minute drive away, and Loch Leven is a 20-minute drive away from the planned development, with expansive lakes for fishing, water sports, lake-side cycling and walking. The latter even boasts a charming café. Spend sunny days at Kirkcaldy Beach, also 20 minutes away, with the coastline stretching to the well-loved Seafield Beach.

A 50-minute car journey across the river leads to Edinburgh city centre, which can alternatively be reached in just over half an hour from Dunfermline Queen Margaret Railway Station. The outskirts of the city can be reached in just 20 minutes’ drive.

Kelty offers convenient commuter links, with residents of the upcoming homes to have easy access to the M90, leading south to Edinburgh and 25 minutes north to central Perth. The A92 is local to the town, with the connecting main road accessible within five miles.

Train links are just as favourable, with Dunfermline Queen Margaret Railway Station also five miles away; arrive at Edinburgh in as little as 34 minutes and to Stirling in one hour and 40 minutes. Alternatively, Cowdenbeath is 11 minutes’ drive away and there is also a station in Lochgelly 14 minutes away in the car.

The nearest bus stop is on Blackhall Road just a 10-minute walk away, with regular routes terminating at Perth, Inveralmond, Kelty, Halbeath, and Edinburgh.

For air travel, Edinburgh Airport is just a 23-minute drive away from the planned development, with enticing destinations across the world.

Everyday essentials can be acquired at the local convenience store just a 16-minute walk away, with even more choice available at one of the nearby grocery superstores; some of the closest are on the outskirts of Dunfermline just a seven-minute drive away, and around four miles away in Cowdenbeath.

Halbeath Retail Park is reachable in eight minutes when driving and is home to several big names, with stores catering to a range of industries. For a wider selection of shopping opportunities, Dunfermline’s streets are lined with retail favourites and eateries, and Kingsgate Shopping Centre – centrally located in Dunfermline – is well-stocked with well-loved brands.

For dining, there are several local businesses dotted along main street in Kelty – predominantly cafes and takeaway eateries – along with a bustling pub. The neighbouring village of Cowdenbeath is host to a popular café and restaurants ranging from Indian to Greek. Kirkcaldy is home to several Italian establishments, pubs, cafés, and bars just 20 minutes away.

Pre-school children can attend Clentry Nursery a 17-minute walk away, while older children within the local area attend either Kelty Primary School just over half a mile away from the planned site; St. Joseph’s RC Primary School, which is reachable in around a 10-minute walk; or Cowdenbeath Primary School a short 10-minute drive away.

Pupils aged 11 to 18 will have several well-established choices within a 10-minute commute, including but not limited to Beath High School and St. Columba’s Roman Catholic High School. A little further out, Fife College is situated on the Kirkcaldy coastline, and also features a University Hub for higher education.

The homes will be within an hour’s commute to some of the country’s finest higher education establishments. The closest include The University of Stirling, Edinburgh Napier University, The University of Edinburgh, and Queen Margaret University. A little more than 60 minutes takes students further afield to The University of Glasgow, Glasgow Caledonian University, The University of Strathclyde, and The University of the West of Scotland.
