Enjoying a tranquil location against the scenic backdrop of the South Downs National Park, Bellway’s Perceval Grange development of new homes in Midhurst is within walking distance of its traditional market town centre, offering you the best of both worlds right on your doorstep. The Ashfield showhome at Perceval Grange is your opportunity to experience living at this beautiful and brand-new community, and to see inside Bellway’s energy-efficient homes that are aesthetically inspired by the past, yet fully equipped for the future.

The Ashfield is a 3-bedroom showhome that was designed by our interior design partners, Show Business, who took cues from Midhurst’s quintessentially English market town heritage to create an ‘old money’-feeling interior décor. Its timeless style that is infused with character and sophistication impressed the judges of the Showhome Awards, where The Ashfield was given the coveted title of Showhome of the Year 2025.

Introducing the Ashfield at Perceval Grange

Boasting an extensive open-plan kitchen and dining area, a separate living room, and three bedrooms including one with an en suite, plus must-have lifestyle features such as a downstairs cloakroom and French doors to the garden, the Ashfield is a new Bellway home in the South West perfectly suited to growing families as well as those looking to downsize to a more manageable property.

For the showhome at Perceval Grange, the Show Business team wanted to visually represent Midhurst’s ‘quiet luxury and easy confidence’ and appeal to the tastes of discerning home buyers, while also demonstrating the space and flexibility that the Ashfield offers for family life.

“We wanted to create a refined living experience for those who appreciate life’s finer details; someone who embodies the essence of old-money elegance, with a love for heritage,” explains Amie Reeves, Sales Director at Show Business. “To fully envision the final design, we created physical mood boards that represent the ‘old money’ aesthetic, and incorporate tactile elements including real samples of materials, fabrics, and finishes, to see and feel the textures, tones, and colour combinations we wanted to use in the Ashfield new-build showhome”.

The Show Business team also handpicked elements from two key trends to curate the final look in the Ashfield showhome, which Amie also described as ‘timeless eclectic’; “a style that feels both grounded in tradition and full of personality”.

The organic living trend is represented in the Ashfield by woven and rattan furniture, natural wood finishes, dried flowers, and an earthy, neutral palette with shades of clay pink and baby blue, contributing to a “calm and comforting” atmosphere that invites the outdoors in. This is contrasted with elements of dopamine design, as the Show Business team added in playful colours and juxtaposing patterns to lift the space with personality; stripes, florals, and ginghams infused character and charm against the serene backdrop.

How a timeless ‘old money’ style adds value in the Ashfield showhome

For the Ashfield showhome at Perceval Grange, Amie explains that the Show Business team imagined a home buyer with “timeless taste; the sort of person who treasures vintage cars, shops at local farm stores, plays polo on weekends, and embraces a slower, organic lifestyle”.

Curating a showhome around an ‘ideal buyer’ enables the team to produce an intentional and purposeful style for its new-build home interior and understand how they want visitors to experience and interact with it. “We wanted people to feel a sense of elegance and ease in the Ashfield showhome,” reflects Amie. “As they move through the home the design subtly reflects its heritage, creating an atmosphere that feels both elevated and welcoming. Most importantly, we want it to feel like a place where they belong, not just in the home but in the community.”

Entering the Ashfield at Perceval Grange in West Sussex, you’re drawn into the open-plan kitchen and dining area; a bright space filled with character and personality. A soft baby blue paint band flows around its walls, while the floral wallpaper with delicate bird motifs, applied to diagonally opposing walls, adds whimsical elegance.

“We wanted to highlight the light and airy feel of the open-plan kitchen and dining area,” Amie explains. “T achieve this we carefully zoned each space using distinct wallpaper and furniture, while maintaining a strong sense of cohesion through a continuous baby blue paint band that flows seamlessly throughout. The soft, light colour palette further enhances the natural brightness, creating a space that feels fresh, open, and beautifully connected.”

Across the hallway, the living room has clay pink sofas that act as the heart of the design and anchor the space, complimented with rustic wooden furniture such as a coffee table and sideboard to add both function and character.

“We achieved a sense of eclectic timelessness by pairing soft pastel colours with traditional patterns, a combination that not only adds character but also brings an elegant feel to the space,” says Amie. “These patterns can be seen in feature wallpaper, as well as in cushions and other styling items to add depth and interest.”

Upstairs, the first bedroom has been painted with a muted rose hue for a soft, serene feel, contrasted with a deep blue patterned headboard. Amie emphasises that statement headboards were a key design choice for the bedrooms in the Ashfield showhome:

“Serving as a focal point for each room, the headboards add interest and character. Whether through bold patterns or unique shapes, each one has been thoughtfully chosen to reflect the individual style of the bedroom and elevate the overall design of the space, while remaining in harmony with the home’s cohesive aesthetic.”

The second bedroom presents a more fresh and youthful interpretation of a timeless aesthetic, with styling elements such as vibrant artwork, patterned bedding, and delicately frilled cushions to maintain a sense of classic charm while introducing playful touches.

Reflecting on the styling details of the Ashfield showhome, Amie comments, “Styling played a pivotal role in bringing the overall aesthetic of this new-build home to life, transforming each space with intention.

“Throughout the home, pieces have been carefully selected not only to evoke classic elegance but also to infuse each room with a distinct sense of personality and warmth.”

Finally, in the third bedroom, distinctive red panelling creates a bold contrast against the baby blue walls, creating an eclectic look with a vibrant energy – “This brave colour pairing brings a sense of fun and creativity while still feeling considered and well-balanced.”

While this bedroom has been styled as a young child’s bedroom in the Ashfield showhome, it could also be utilised as a study for working from home, a hobby room, or a guest room, as it is conveniently situated next to the family bathroom.

Recreating showhome style in your own Bellway home

If the classic elegance of the Ashfield has inspired you to add ‘old money’ style when decorating your new Bellway home, or to bring your own unique interior ideas to life, Amie and the Show Business team have some helpful tips to guide you.

  • Let one piece make the statement – “A single standout item can elevate an entire room. Whether it’s a bold headboard, striking wallpaper, or even a beautifully textured cushion, let one feature lead the way and build your design around it.”
  • Layer on the details – “Your styling pieces play a key role in bringing your décor to life. Whether you’re working with a blank canvas of a new-build home or layering on soft pink clay tones, it’s the details that make a space feel complete. For this Bellway showhome, patterns like stripes or florals added personality, while maintaining a timeless feel.”
  • Stay true to your style – “Choose a look that genuinely reflects your personality. Your home should be your sanctuary – a place where you feel completely comfortable and yourself. Don’t feel pressured to follow trends if they don’t resonate with you.”
  • Inspiration is everywhere – “Look to your surroundings for inspiration – from cafés, hotels, nature, or even vintage markets. The most unique and meaningful ideas often come from the unexpected.”
